STARS Driver

Ashton Tracy Owens (born September 4th 2005) is a STARS Lowe's Truck Series driver from Marietta, Georgia.

Early Career

Owens would get his career started early, getting a bandolero car for his 8th birthday from his uncle, inaugural STARS Lowe's Truck Series champion Vernon Morris. Owens would do bandolero races up and down the southeast, at tracks like Charlotte Motor Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway for several seasons until he turned 14 in 2019, before deciding to focus on graduating to high school. Once Ashton turned 16 in 2022, he traded up to race a late model in STARS's regional series in the Southwest. In 2024, he caught the eye of Travis Abbott, the owner of Outlaw Racers Group in the Lowe's Truck Series. Abbott saw Ashton Owens pick up a victory in Mobile, putting on a dominant performance.

Lowe's Truck Series career

Abbott decided to reach out to Ashton Owens to replace the team's veteran driver Tyler Everett, who was going off to the Lowe's Premier Series in 2025. UPS, a company based in Georgia, would sign on to sponsor truck #33, after opting to leave Satou Medical and not following Frankie Kowalski to ATK Motorsports. Owens' season would start in very rocky fashion, getting swept up in the first big one at Albany Superspeedway on Lap 15, sweeping the bottom row with teammate Joel Eklund.
