STARS Driver

Lillian Kannon Corden (born 12th February 2005) is an English STARS Lowe's International Series driver from Shrewsbury, England. She is known for being the youngest driver to ever start a Lowe's International Series race aged 16 years and 9 days old, starting at the 2021 ChronoClock 100 at New Jersey for Team Kwik Fit. Corden is also known for winning the 2030 STARS Lowe's Premier Series championship.

Early Career

Corden's interest in racing sparked when she caught the 2013 Indianapolis 500 live on television at a friends house. Coming from a well-off background, Corden asked if she could take up go-kart racing after becoming hooked on racing. At first, Corden's career did not look like it was going to take off as she failed to score any remarkable results with her karting team, but an unexpected win towards the latter part of the 2016 season boosted her confidence, and she proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the 2017 season, scoring 7 wins and finishing 3rd in the championship.

Quinton Young, owner of Team Kwik Fit, noticed Corden's good run in 2017, and put her on the national stage of kart racing in 2018. Corden's natural pace shone through, and she took an easy championship victory in her first attempt. With her talent becoming apparent, Young was eager to advance Corden's career, moving her up to the Ginetta Junior series.

2019-2020: BTCC Support Ranks

Corden's call up to the Ginetta Junior series proved to be successful, as Corden took wins at Brands Hatch, Thruxton and Croft. With consistency being key for Corden, she took the 2019 Ginetta Juniors championship with relative ease. The next season, Corden was moved to the Formula 4 championship, but had her heart set on racing in STARS.

Corden's success did not stop as she took home wins in the rounds at Oulton Park, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Croft and Thruxton as she dominated the 2020 Formula 4 championship. With her form improving in open-wheel cars, Quinton Young set out a plan for Corden to race in Formula 3 with a long-term goal for Corden to race in Formula 1. However, Corden, being aware of Team Kwik Fit's involvement with STARS, requested that she raced in stock cars with the long-term goal of racing in the Lowe's International Series. With a driver needed in the Kobalt Tools Truck Series, Quinton Young took a risk and chose Corden to drive the truck.

2021: Team Kwik Fit

Corden made her unofficial STARS Lowe's International Series debut at New York Autoring in the #12 car during the non-points races at Speedweeks. Corden was 15 years and 362 days old at the time, but was given permission to drive in the Rookie and Open Shootout events. Corden kept her nose clean, finishing third in the Rookie Shootout, and missing a last-lap melee in the Open Shootout to finish fourth, leading three laps. Corden's top 5 was good enough to qualify her for the All-Star race, where she finished 11th out of 23 cars. On her 16th birthday, she made her KTTS debut in the Spotify 100.

Corden struggled in the Kobalt Tools Truck Series, as she failed to finish inside the top 5 the entire season, finishing in the top 10 seven times. Her statistics on the Lowe's International Series side did not fare any better, either, as she had a best finish of 13th, a position she had finished in 3 times over the course of the season. With neither Corden or her teammate Kailin Donohue finding any reliable pace, Team Kwik Fit elected to let both drivers go at the end of the season.

2022: Kingslayer Racing

For a good amount of the off-season, it looked like Corden would be out of STARS entirely as she could not put together another ride in the Kobalt Tools Truck Series. However, a lifeline was offered to her when Mach 5 Motorsports' assets were bought by Jamie King, forming Kingslayer Racing. King was eager to bring Corden on-board the brand new team, and along with fellow rookie Elias Sutton, Corden signed with Kingslayer Racing to drive in the Lowe's International Series.

The team were predicted to have a tricky opening season, but Corden started her season with racing for the win in the Rookie Shootout, then finishing top 5 in her Duel race, making the Empire State 300 persuasively. Corden managed to bring home her damaged car home 13th, last car on the lead lap. In her duel race of Oxford Plains, Corden secured her then best finish of 6th place, battling with eventual fifth place finisher Scarlett Sanders for the position.

A couple of weeks later, Corden qualified 11th at Daytona and quickly made her way to the front of the pack. Corden's car looked to be one the of the quickest on the track, with only Ben Atkins and Madison Baszler able to contend with her. Arguably, Corden looked poised to take a stunning victory when Rosemary Black and Makina Irisu tangled in the tri-oval, collecting the majority of the front pack, including Corden. Having led the most laps during the race, Corden had to settle for a 16th place finish, leaving her in tears after the race.

Another good run for Corden was squandered at Saitama as she qualified in third, and ran second to Grant Macintosh for the majority of the event. Corden lost some positions late in the race, but in the overtime attempt, she lost control of her car in the final turn of the last lap, hitting the tire wall, relegating her to a 27th place finish.

Corden's second, and final, top 10 of the year came at Pensacola, where she finished 9th, leading the second pack.

Corden finished 38th in points with 10 DNQs, slightly edging out teammate Elias Sutton over the course of the season, as he finished 40th in points with 9 DNQs and also a pair of top 10 finishes. With her speed being apparent, and Corden being one of the youngest drivers in the field, many teams were interested in signing her, but Kingslayer Racing were also eager to hold onto Corden for 2023.

2023-2026: ATK Motorsports

ATK Motorsports and Kingslayer Racing were able to hit a deal which would see Corden swap over to ATK Motorsports in return of an alliance between the two teams, with ATK Motorsports providing Kingslayer Racing with Chevrolet racecars. Corden replaced Madison Baszler in the 28 car, as she switched to the 2 car, replacing the outgoing Lucia Ohara. Corden ran well in the Empire State 300, leading a single lap, but was turned into the backstretch wall late in the event, relegating her to a 29th place finish.

Corden's first pole position came at Pocono, where she went on to equal her best career result of a 6th place finish. However, it did not take Corden long to beat that result, as she scored her first career win the next week in her duel race at Richmond, making advantage of a Grant Macintosh and Joe Branch crash. Corden went on a late charge on fresh tires at Sawmill Speedway, as she finished second place, coming just short of victory to Ruby Mayberry, who was on old tires. Corden scored her second career pole position at Orange Show, but crashed from the lead at the halfway point of the race.

Corden went on a streak of top 10 finishes, with 8th place finishes at Oklahoma and Springfield capped off with her second career win in an emphatic drive at Brands Hatch. With this win and being top 5 in the point standings at this point, Corden secured her place into the chase.

Corden started her chase off strong with an 8th place finish at Chicagoland, before poor runs at Charlotte and Martinsville set her back early. It did not get better for Corden, as an early crash with Yoshiko Tsushima and Caitlin Conway eliminated her from the race at Talladega. Another 8th place finish at Kansas Speedway saw Corden improve her points position slightly. Corden registered one more top 10 finish at Auto Club, finishing the season 13th in points.

Corden started 2024 with 11th place in her third Empire State 300. Corden struggled for form at the beginning of the season, but she got her first top 10 of the season with an 8th place at Dover. Corden registered top 10's at Myrtle Beach and Atlanta, before she broke through and took her first win of the season at Oklahoma City, passing teammate Aya Maruyama with 5 laps to go. Corden scored a top 5 at Denver, before getting into a confrontation with her teammate Amy Prowell at Daytona, where she also registered a top 10 finish. Corden finished off the season with top 10's at Knoxville and Phoenix Raceway, having to settle for a 15th place finish in the points. Corden's poor season was put down to personal circumstances, including a messy breakup with her then-girlfriend Amy Prowell, and Corden was kept on by ATK Motorsports.

For the first time in her career, Corden scored a front-row start for the Empire State 300, starting on the outside pole with her teammate Tohka Shishigaya scoring her first career pole. Corden's car was one of the strongest during the race, as she stayed in the fight for the win the entire race, but a crash with 13 laps to go saw her drop out of the race. Corden rebounded with a top 10 finish at New Jersey, but a string of crashes and bad luck again hampered the start of the season for her. Corden took a third place finish at Michigan, also leading the most laps in the race, then scored top 10's at Kansas and Knoxville. Corden was involved with a heavy crash with Elias Sutton at Charlotte and received an official warning from STARS officials for failing to use the brakes when approaching the accident.

At Atlanta, Corden had the fastest car early in the race and was poised to take a dominating win, but Corden had a tire go flat while in the lead. Pit strategy worked out for Corden, however, and she got back to the front after the yellow flag came out when she cycled to the lead. Corden had nearly a lap lead due to being off-cycle when a pit collision with Ruby Mayberry damaged her car, costing Corden 5 laps and the win. Corden recovered with a top 10 two weeks later at Bristol, followed by consecutive top 5's with a 4th at Nashville, having led 17 laps, and a 2nd place at Gateway. Corden also ran in the top 5 at Springfield, but only managed to finish 11th due to late cautions.

Corden was involved in an altercation with Misaki Andou after the race at Chicagoland, as she spun the 88 car after the race following a late accident while both drivers were in the top 5. Andou and Corden disagreed about the cause of the accident, but did not exchange words after the race. After Aya Maruyama was injured during the race, Corden had a crew chief swap with the #27 crew, which saw Ben Atkins jump on top of the #28 box for the rest of the season when he was not racing himself. Corden scored a top 10 at Daytona, followed by a 2nd place finish at Homestead, where she was involved in a thrilling fight for the win with Joe Branch, barely losing out on the last lap. Corden did not score another top 10 until the ill-fated race at Las Vegas, where she finished 8th, but Corden followed up that result with a dominating victory at Phoenix, leading 81 laps to score her fourth win of her career.

Corden scored another top 10 at Auto Club and was passed on the last lap for the win at Indianapolis by Robby Kane, but still finished third place, which was enough to put her into the running for the Quadruple Crown at Kansas the next week. Despite running in the midfield for most of the race, Corden made a huge charge late in the race and finished in 2nd place to Misaki Andou. The result was enough to win the Quadruple Crown and also give Corden her first ever top 5 finish in points, as she leapfrogged Leckliter and Douglas to finish 5th in the final standings. Although the initial plan was to loan Corden out to Kingslayer Racing for the 2026 season, Atkins noted Corden's huge rise in performance and kept her at the team, also choosing to stay on the pit box for Corden in 2026. Corden signed a 5-year contract extension which would see her drive for ATK Motorsports until 2030.

2027: Return to Kingslayer Racing

Late in the 2026 season, after much speculation despite a recently signed contract extension, it was confirmed that Nocturne Racing struck a deal with Kingslayer Racing which would see Corden return to her former team Kingslayer Racing while Emmie Hutchinson takes over the #28 car. Corden's return to Kingslayer Racing started strong, as she scored a win in Duel #2 for the Empire State 300, before having a strong run in the main race, leading a race-high 22 laps en route to a 12th place finish. Corden played her part in a triple top 5 for the team at New Hampshire, finishing in 4th place, but this would spark the beginning of a terrible run of form for Corden. A mix of average form and an unprecedented streak of terrible luck plagued Corden's season, while she was also battling family issues off the track. With 9 races left in the season, Corden left Kingslayer Racing, having only scored 2 top 5's and 3 top 10's all season, scoring 13 DNF's during her tenure; only one of which was of her own doing.

2027-2029: Vance Autosports

Having originally been linked with Vance Autosports for the 2027 season, Corden signed on to finish the 2027 season with Vance Autosports, replacing Evie Vance in the #99 car. Almost immediately, there was an improvement in Corden's form, as she seemed to have great speed in some races. In the race at the Las Vegas Speeddome, Corden looked to have a good chance at scoring the win, but was taken out in a crash with Caitlin Conway. Having made contact with Conway multiple times throughout the race, Corden confronted her, which led to an incident in which Conway made a comment about Corden's mental health issues in the past. Corden did not respond to the comments, but has since hinted that she has no intentions of speaking to Conway following the incident. Corden's season finished strong, with top 10's at Auto Club, where she drove from the back to finish 6th, and Irwindale, where she finished 10th. Corden's 2027 season finished with her 25th in points with 3 poles, 2 top 5's and 6 top 10's.

Corden was retained by Vance Autosports for the full 2028 season, as she finished 16th in the Empire State 300. Immediately, Corden looked like she had returned to form, scoring a 3rd place finish at New Jersey before a mid-pack finish at Watkins Glen. At New Hampshire, Corden started on the outside pole, but took the lead on the first lap, pulling away by over 6 seconds early in the race. While a tire failure scuppered her chance at a win, Corden brought herself back into the race by taking tires late and driving from the back of the field. Although she only finished in 9th, Corden passed over 20 cars in the final stint of the race to get the result. Corden continued her consistent start to the season, scoring lead lap finishes in the opening 7 races, including an immense drive at Atlanta where she led the most laps and put on another comeback drive to finish in 3rd, just 3 tenths off eventual winner Aria MacHale. Corden's perfect lap completion rate came to an end as she was taken out in the big-one at Talladega. Undeterred, Corden fought back with a 4th place finish at Darlington and a 9th place finish at Martinsville.

A third of the way through the season, Corden was 3rd in points, just 75 points back from points leader Austin Watts, and had put herself as an early contender for the championship. While Corden was consistent and enjoyed a largely successful comeback year, she was still left searching for her first win in two years, finishing 7th in points, with 1 pole, 6 top 5's and 14 top 10's. With her good form, Corden was retained for the 2029 season.

In 2029, Corden started the year by getting into a crash in her qualifying duel for Albany, but rebounded with an 18th place finish on the lead lap. Corden snapped her winless streak, leading 49 laps from the pole to take the win at Watkins Glen, holding off a charge from Steve Duggan. Yet again, Corden had a strong start to the season and was in the talk for championship contention, but she struggled for consistency, despite a close win at Michigan in a photo finish with Sophia Brandt. During the mid-part of the season, Corden fell out of the conversation for the championship, but continued her winning ways, scoring another win at Las Vegas. Corden rebounded with a strong end to the season, and ended up 4th in points with 3 wins, 4 poles, 9 top 5's and 15 top 10's, only 81 points from champion Iori Minase.

2030-Present: Return to ATK

Midway through 2029, it was confirmed that Corden would return to ATK Motorsports in 2030 on a two-year contract, driving the #27 IHOP/Castrol Toyota. This was a direct ride swap with Jessica Dalton, who moved the other way to drive the #99.

2030: Championship Season

Corden's return to ATK started brilliantly, as she scored her second pole for the Empire State 300, but she ended up crashing out late, scoring a 15th place finish. Corden continued her qualifying form by winning 4 poles in the first 6 races, also scoring a win at Watkins Glen for the second year in a row, leading 45 laps. Corden's form was unrivalled in the early season, and she became the early championship[ favourite as she held a comfortable points lead over her competitors. In a post-race crash at Kansas, Corden took a huge hit and ended up with a break in her ankle, but was not required to miss any races. Just two races later, Corden scored her second win of the season at Gateway.

Corden was in the centre of a fight with Emily Cassidy at Road America after the two had repeated incidents over the course of the first half of the season, but it was documented that Corden tried to avoid the incident before getting into the fracas. Corden's point lead started to fade at Tanner Steele started to gain momentum and score wins, but Corden responded by scoring a win at Homestead, where she came from a lap down to pass Kieran Cassidy who was on an alternative strategy. Corden had a frightening crash with Evie Vance at Oklahoma where she barrel rolled multiple times, but she was unharmed. Corden dropped to over 100 points behind Tanner Steele during this part of the season, but a second place finish at Las Vegas Speedbowl and a win at Texas World brought Corden back into title contention.

Entering the season finale at Kansas, Corden was in title contention, 27 points behind teammate Tanner Steele. On lap 2, she was involved in a crash with Madison Baszler and Kasumi Nakasu, but found speed in the car despite this, but half way into the race, she caused an accident that saw Steve Duggan back into the wall. Corden then faded into the mid-20s, while Steele was comfortably in the top 5, looking poised to take the title. However, a caution for an Aria MacHale and Chloe Renshaw crash saw a caution come out with 15 to go, and Corden took tires while Steele stayed out on track. Corden charged through the field while Steele faded back. In the end, Corden finished 13th while Steele finished 26th, and this was enough for Corden to overcome the point defecit and she was crowned the 2030 Lowe's Premier Series champion by just 4 points. She finished the season with 4 wins, 4 poles, 8 top 5's and 13 top 10's, having completed the most laps and led the most laps of anyone in the series.

Personal Life

Corden currently resides in Orlando, Florida. Corden previously was in a relationship with Amy Prowell during their tenure as teammates at ATK Motorsports, but the two remain good friends. Corden also previously was in a relationship with former racecar driver Caden Faulkner. Currently, Corden is single.

Corden is a fan of MLS team Orlando City SC and often goes to games with team owner Ben Atkins and his wife Riko Vance.

Corden's favourite restaurant is IHOP, with Corden admitting that pancakes are her favourite food, and ultimately, "her weakness". Corden also enjoys visiting amusement parks on a regular basis.

Corden has admitted that she has previously suffered, and still occasionally suffers with severe social anxiety, although she has noted that joining STARS and the community feeling around the series has helped her a lot. Corden says she still gets anxiety from the smallest of things, but she says she has made leaps and bounds from when she was younger.

During the off-season in early 2024, Corden came out as bisexual in a Twitter post.

Corden's height is around average for females in the series, as she measures in at 5'6".
