STARS LIS Driver

Daniel William Leckliter (born 16th January 1989) is a STARS Lowe's International Series driver from Portland, New York. He used to drive for ATK Racing, and he's still fairly sure that ATK is just attack abbreviated, but he now drivers for McIntosh Motorsports, Inc. He also drove for his own team back in 2017, and he didn't do too well. Now he's back to owning his own team again for 2026 and hopefully he does well.

Anyways...

Early life

Daniel is the son of former STARS Premier Series driver Robert Leckliter. He started karting at Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY at the age of 10, winning a Junior Class Championship in 2000 and 2002. He also competed in Eriez Speedway's Junior Division, winning the championship in 2002 as well. He ran a few races in 2003 before moving to Florida where he would win in the Teenager Category at East Bay Raceway Park in 2004. He would move up to Street Stocks in 2005 where he'd have some success. He moved to the asphalt side of racing in 2008 where he'd start running late models.

NSSC

Daniel was apart of the inaugural NSSC Sunoco Super Late Model series season in 2013. He won the first ever race at USA Speedway. He would get three more wins that season at Lake Erie Speedway, Bristol, and New Hampshire en route to winning the championship.

He would return the next season in 2014 to defend his championship where he would win USA Speedway for the second year in a row, along with South Boston and Concord. He would finish third in points.

STARS Pro Truck Series

Daniel would make the jump to STARS in 2015 driving for his own team in the Kobalt Tools Truck Series. He got his first pole at Martinsville and led 45 laps before finishing second. He would back up that result with a win next week at Bristol, also from pole. He would end the season 8th in points.

He would kick off 2016 with a home state victory at Watkins Glen and would get one more victory at Talladega. Daniel would do better this year in points with 5th.

STARS Lowe's Premier Series

Eventually.
