Qualifying races are races that set the starting grid for an event for when there's a field larger than the paddock will allow. The STARS Lowe's Premier Series and the STARS Lowe's Pro Truck Series used this format from 2017 to 2025.

The format was abolished in 2026, citing costs. It was replaced with a qualifying session for anybody not in the top 40 in LPS and top 36 in LPTS.

The qualifying races for the Empire State 300, the Logitech Twin 99's are the only qualifying races still being used, as it includes every driver and not a select few.
